PARTICIPANT PROFILE:

Any member of staff or management who may be appointed at the secondary informal stage of a bullying complaint.

COURSE AIMS:

On completion of this course participants will have An increased understanding on the new Code of Practice concerning the Prevention and Resolution of Bullying at Work.
Have knowledge of how to respond appropriately to bullying and harassment within the workplace.
Understanding of the responsibilities of management to create and invoke a Dignity & Respect at Work procedure in line with the Code of Practice concerning the Prevention and Resolution of Bullying at Work.
An understanding of the steps taken at the secondary informal stage in determining if a complaint can proceed to a formal investigation.

Defining Bullying, Harassment & Sexual Harassment
Secondary Informal Processes
The Role of the Nominated Person
Steps in the Secondary Informal Stage and records to be kept
Closure of the Informal Stage

MODULE LENGTH:

2 hours (Maximum of 15 participants per training session)

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

A greater understanding of the meaning of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment.
Knowledge of legislation and the new code of practice surrounding bullying in the workplace.
An understanding of the importance of dignity and respect in the workplace.
An understanding of the pivotal role of the Nominated Person in altering bullying cultures and handling complaints effectively at the informal stage.
